Meet Food — Terms of Service
Effective date: July 15, 2026 · Version 1.0
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS IS A BINDING AGREEMENT between you and Meet Food. By tapping "I Agree," creating an account, or using Meet Food, you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. These Terms contain a food-safety disclaimer and assumption of risk, a class-action waiver and binding individual arbitration clause, and limitations of liability.
1. WHAT MEET FOOD IS — AND IS NOT
Meet Food is a technology platform that lets neighbors who cook at home discover each other, share food content, match into small dining tables (1-on-1, 3-person, or 4-person), and take turns cooking on a rotation. Every member is a home cook acting in their own personal capacity.
Meet Food is NOT a restaurant, food business, caterer, food seller, delivery service, or employer of any member. We do not cook, prepare, handle, inspect, or take custody of any food, and we make no representation about the identity, skill, hygiene, licensing, kitchen conditions, or food of any member — whether or not a member displays a Verified, LinkedIn, or similar badge. Badges reflect only limited automated checks at a point in time and are not an endorsement or guarantee.
2. ELIGIBILITY AND ACCOUNT
You must be at least 18. Your profile photo must be a genuine, current photo of you. One account per person. We may require identity verification through LinkedIn. Until required verification is complete, your profile may be hidden and matching disabled. Verification reduces, but does not eliminate, the risk of misrepresentation — you remain solely responsible for your own diligence about who you meet and whose food you eat.
3. MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES — FOOD, LAW, AND SAFETY
You are solely responsible for the food you cook and share: its safety, hygiene, ingredients, labeling, allergen disclosure, storage, and fitness for consumption. You represent that your participation complies with all laws applicable to you, including cottage-food / home-kitchen laws, health codes, permits, and tax obligations. Meet Food does not and cannot verify your compliance. Allergen and dietary information provided by members is informational only and may be wrong — if you have allergies, ask the cook directly. Meeting people and eating food from private kitchens carries inherent risks; use judgment and leave if you feel unsafe.
4. SHARING ONLY — NO MEMBER SALES
Meet Food is a sharing platform. Members may not charge each other: there are no prices and no member-to-member sales, and any arrangements between members are strictly their own; Meet Food is not a party to them. Meet Food is currently free to use; we may introduce optional paid features or service fees in the future, in which case we will update these Terms and give you notice before any charge applies.
5. ASSUMPTION OF RISK
YOU EXPRESSLY AND VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISKS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF MEET FOOD, including preparing, sharing, or consuming food prepared by other members in uninspected home kitchens, and meeting other members in person — including foodborne illness, allergic reactions, property damage, and personal injury.
6. RELEASE
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Meet Food and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from all claims arising out of (a) disputes between you and other members, (b) any food prepared, shared, or consumed via Meet Food, and (c) any in-person interaction between members. California residents waive Civil Code §1542.
7. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, including about verification results, member identity or conduct, or the safety, legality, or quality of any food.
8. YOUR CONTENT
You own what you post. You grant Meet Food a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, display, and use your content to operate, improve, and promote the service. We may remove any content at any time. Report copyright issues to ajarverse@icloud.com.
9. PROHIBITED CONDUCT AND ZERO TOLERANCE FOR OBJECTIONABLE CONTENT
You agree not to post, share, or send content that is objectionable, abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or unlawful, and not to harass, threaten, impersonate, dox, or endanger any member. Also prohibited: fake identities or circumventing identity verification; commercial food sales or resale of meals; scraping or interfering with the service; and using another member's exact address beyond a table you both joined.
Meet Food has ZERO TOLERANCE for objectionable content and abusive users. You can report objectionable content or an abusive member directly in the app — use the flag / Report control on a dish, a message, or a member's profile, and block any member so you no longer see each other anywhere in Meet Food. We review every report and act on objectionable content and abusive users within 24 hours, removing the content and ejecting the responsible member as warranted. You can also reach our safety team at ajarverse@icloud.com.
10. ENFORCEMENT
We may suspend or terminate your access, remove content, revoke badges, and cancel matches at any time, with or without notice, in our sole discretion.
11. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to defend and hold Meet Food harmless from claims arising out of your content, your food, your violation of law or these Terms, or your interactions with other members.
12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Meet Food is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for personal injury, illness, or property damage arising from the services, any food, or member conduct. Total liability is capped at US $100.
13. ARBITRATION; CLASS ACTION AND JURY WAIVER
Disputes are resolved by final and binding INDIVIDUAL arbitration (AAA Consumer Rules). ALL CLAIMS MUST BE BROUGHT INDIVIDUALLY — class, collective, and representative actions are waived, and both parties waive jury trial. Small-claims court remains available. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing ajarverse@icloud.com.
14. GENERAL
Governed by New York law. We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-app and continued use constitutes acceptance. Contact: ajarverse@icloud.com.
