Meet Food — Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 15, 2026 · Version 1.0

This Privacy Policy explains what information Meet Food collects, how we use and share it, and your choices. By using Meet Food you agree to the practices described here and to the Terms of Service.

1. WHAT WE COLLECT
• Account & profile: name, email, phone, password, profile photo (a real photo of you), bio, cooking tags, neighborhood.
• LinkedIn verification (optional, highly recommended): if you connect LinkedIn we receive your profile identifiers, name, photo, and verification status. Skipping LinkedIn means no verified badge and lower matching priority.
• Location: your pinned address and (with permission) device location. Other members only ever see your neighborhood — your exact address is shared only when you, as host, explicitly share it with a confirmed table.
• Content & activity: dishes, posts, comments, messages, swipes, matches, tables, rotation history, and the daily swipe quota.
• Device data: a push notification token (only if you turn on notifications) and the basic technical data your device sends with each request (approximate IP address and OS version) that our hosting provider records. The Meet Food app uses no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, does not collect an advertising identifier, and does not track you across other apps or websites. (Our website may use cookies; we currently do not respond to Do Not Track signals.)

2. HOW WE USE IT
To run matching and tables (including team approvals and rotation), verify identity and keep the community safe, show distance while protecting your address, personalize content, send service notifications, comply with law, and — in aggregated or de-identified form — improve the product.

3. HOW WE SHARE IT
With other members (your profile, content, neighborhood, table participation); with service providers under contract (hosting, verification vendors, communications); with a table's confirmed members when coordination requires it (recipients may use that info only to complete the table); for legal and safety reasons; and in corporate transactions. We do not sell your personal information for money.

4. YOUR CHOICES
Edit or delete your profile and most content in-app. Manage camera, location, and notification permissions in device settings. Unsubscribe from marketing anytime (reply STOP to texts). Delete your account in Settings — your data is permanently deleted; some safety records are retained as required by law.

5. YOUR U.S. STATE RIGHTS
Depending on your state, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, and port your data, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Submit requests in Settings → Privacy or to ajarverse@icloud.com. California residents may also make "Shine the Light" requests.

6. RETENTION & SECURITY
We keep data as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or de-identify it. We use commercially reasonable safeguards, but no transmission or storage is 100% secure — you use the service at your own risk.

7. CHILDREN
Meet Food is for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. CHANGES & CONTACT
We may update this policy; material changes will be notified in-app. Questions: ajarverse@icloud.com.
